To the students of the University: There seemsto be an impression in the minds of many of the student, that the treasury of the athletic asso- ciation is well filled. Therefore some of the students who have subscibed to the athletic fund have been slosw in paying up their subscriptions, while others who intended to subscribe have neglected to do so. To correct this wrong impression, I wish to say that the association is in great need of money. To save expense several men have been dropped from the training table and there is at present ,in the treasury only about half the amount required to take the team east to play Harvard. All who have subscribed are earnest- ly requested to hand in their subscrip- tions at once, and all who can possibly aford to do are most earnestly urged to subscribe and pay in as soon as possible. Affairs have reached a crisis. If we are to go east, the team must have the money with which to travel. The players are working hard. Let the students do their share now. CHARLES BAIRD, Mgr. Miss Jones' Talks. Room 24 was tilled yesterday at 4:30 p. il. with college women assembled to hear Mliss Jon~es, who gave a charming informlal' talk upoii PhysicatlPoise, what it is, and how it may be secured with proper attention and training. The lady emphasized the necessity of good chest carriage and expansion as a prime requisite in graceful movenient and sustaned activity. She put the chief lack of the American girl as a want of vigor and showed a number of sinpie exercises which may be used to correct this deficiency. The proper way to carry the body in walking and' standing was discussed, with answers to questions occurring to the interested auditors. In closing, Siss Jones gave a very graceful exhibition of Delsarte exercises in flexibility. Wanted.-Student to act as steward. Call at No. 7 E. University ave. Miss M. Of Detroit, Mich., at the Cook House. At the Grand Opera House. John Gritith will appear at the Grand Operas house tonight, taking the part of Meihisto in. the dramatiza- tion of Goethe's "Faust." The play and the player need no introduction 10 Ai" Arbor theatergoers, as the topic is familiar and the actor has ap- peared on the boards here before. He presented "Faust" here last year and did not suffer by comparisoe with Lewis Morrison, who came later. The same company is still with him for the inost part, making a strong cast.
