The celebration was held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 12 noon in the first-floor atrium of the Wayne County Building, 600 Randolph. The event featured African-style drummers and dancers and a buffet lunch. Kwanzaa is traditionally celebrated from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, and is "a celebration of commitment for the coming year for the betterment of all mankind, n said Parker.
