Over the last three years Karyn's become a wife to
superstar producer Terry Lewis of the infamous Jimmy
J am and Terry Lewis duo; she's now the mother of a new
baby, Ashley, who's a year and a half; and she's a
stepmom to Terry's two children from a previous mar
riage.

Warner Bros. Burbank. "Make Him Do Right," Karyn's
newly released album, focuses on the sentiments and
feelings that women of the nineties can easily identify
with.

album?
KARYN: I bate to say yes. But I want men to feel
they're welcome, too. It wasn't really planned that way
though. Most of these songs speak to the needs of women
because we're just so diverse, ranging from sensual to
being strong.

I was initially going to do a remake of it but I preferred
to write something of my own. I sing a lot around the
house and one day] was taking a shower and suddenly
all the elements of the songju t seem to fall into place.
THE SCOOP: How did Terry feel about you do

KARYN: He said 'your name is bigger than mine on
this album' and that I should do what I feel. He met me
as an artist and I've done sexy songs before, such as
