This year Coca-Cola Bot ling ompany of
Michigan presented the first uture Warrior
Academic Scholarship to Erica mith and Kyra
Sutton. Inspired by the Detroit UrbanLeagu ,
annual Warrior's Tribute Dinner, the scholar­
ship enables outstanding high sch I graduates
to attend a hi torica1ly Black colle or univer­
sity.
Erica Smith is a graduate of Oak Park High
School and will attend Howard University in
Washington, D.C. Sh has participated in the
Detroit Urban League CoIl ge Club, i a mem-
her of the National Honor Society, Junior
Achievement, and vol t i mu'·
nity.
Kyra Sutton is a graduate of Cass Techni I
High School and will attend Spelman College.
he has participated in the Detroi Urban
League College Club, is a mem er of the Na­
tional Honor Society, is a staff reporter for the
Motown Team Ne paper, and volunt ers in
the community.
Erica and Kyra each received a 2,500 schol-
arship. '
