Detroit Mothers study at Northern Michigan University - Yasuha Thomas, 17 (right), gets some
help from an instructor during summer school at Northern Michigan University recently. , Thomas
was one of 65 pregnant or parenting teens, from Detroit's Catherine Ferguson Academy, in an
intensive three-week summer school program. The program, in its third year at NMU, is designed
to help the girls become familiar with life on a college campus while exposing them to a broad range
