Street Baptist Church, a historical marker in Jackson. His
parents' house was a target for bigotry many tim I as it also
was .the stopping place for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when he
was in town.

others went to polling places to watch the proc nd 'help
thos voting, most of whom were totally illiterate."
A most pleasing ob ervation was when h met nth rs work­
ing for the election, who in previous times, had worked to keep
Blacks from voting. H was thrilled to Black moun ed
. horsemen, some on motor cycles, and all e med s riou about
their job.
Rev. Dr. Whitney spoke favorably of form r Pr id nt DeK­
lerk. He said his vow was "Lord if you 'want me to go to South
Africa, I'll go". Whitney is asking Ameri n 0 i 1 te our
