But insiders supposedly want him to enter the race in 1996 as a vice presidential candidate and then be the party's presidential contender in 2000 or 2004. (NBNS) -A series of Black wealth building conference taking place in cities around the nation this summer will focus on how African-Americans can build personal and family wealth. According to organizers, conference topics will include starting home-based businesses, no-money down. real estate techniques, selling Black manufactured products, own­ ing 900-numbers and forming investment clubs. (NBNS) - The Corporation for Public Broadcasting last week agreed to establish a $5 million fund for more minority-oriented programming on public television. The money is not much by commercial television standards but it is considered significant for public television. The money becomes available in the 1996 budget. Howard president critical of media, Jewish attacks WASHINGTON, D.C. - Writing last week, in the New York Tim ,outgoing Howard University President Franklyn G. Jenifer denounced recent media characterizations of the pre­ dominantly Black university as a "Breeding ground for a new generation of anti-Semite ." The attack On Howard from media organizations and Jewish groups came on the heels of a deci­ sion to allow controversial Nation of Islam pokesman Khalid Abdul Muhammad to peak on the campus. Jewish groups have denounced Muhammad as anti-Jewish. In his response, Jenifer said that "As a strong believer in free- p ch" he could not simply ban Muhammad from the campus.
