Maxine Kelly, 52, of Benton
Harbor died June 2; at Mercy M
morial Medical Center, St. Joseph.
The funeral was held June 10,
at I sraelite Missionary Baptist
Church. Burial was in Crystal
Springs Cemetery. The Fairplain
Chapel, Florin Funeral service,
Benton Harbor, was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Kelly was born November
30, 1941, in Mantachie, Miss.
Survivors include: eight daugh
ters, JoAntha Smith, Cassandra
Kelly, Willia Kelly-Lark, Regina
Kelly, Roshanna Williams and
Tabitha Kelly, all of Benton Harbor,
and Kimber� Kelly and Dartene
Anderson, both of Grand Rapids;
a son, Scottie "Greg" Kelly of
Grand Rapids; five brothers, Willie
Turner of �Iue Spring, Miss., CIif
fton Turner of Flin� and Henry
Turner, James Turner and Zelma
Turner Jr., a at Benton Harbor; a
sister, Hannah Beene of Benton
Harbor; and 19 grandchildren.
Mattie Clark
Mattie Clark, 71, of Benton Har
bor died June 9, at Mercy Memo
rial Medical Center, St. Joseph.
The funeral was held June 14,
at Pilgrim Rest Bapti§t Church,
where she was a member. Burial
was in Crystal Springs Cemetery.
Robbins Brothers Funeral Home,
Benton Harbor, was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Clark was born December
11, 1922, in�awkinsville, Ga., and
was formerty a teacher at Boynton
Montessori School.
Survivors include: her husband,
Otis; her mother, Eliza Bembry of
Benton Harbor; two daughters,
Catherine Dorsey of Detroit and
Rethea Clark of Rochester, Mich.;
three sons, Ernest Clark and Otis
Clark Jr., both of Benton Harbor,
and Ronnie Clark of Kansas City,
Kan.; two sisters, Marion Grissom
and Kelly Brown, both of Detroit;
two brothers, Michael Brown of
South1ield and Rodney Brown of
Calrfornia; 21 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and two'
great-great grandchildren.
Mona Neal
Mona Neal, 25, of Benton Har
bor died June 7, at Mercy Memo
rial Medical Center, Sf. Joseph, .
after a sudden illness.
The funeral was held June 13,
at Greater Faith Apotlstic Church,
Benton Harbor. Burial was in North
Shore Memory Gardens. Robbins
Brothers Funeral Home, Benton
Harbor, was in charqe of arrange
ments.
Mrs. Neal was born August 9,
1968, in Benton Harbor. She was
a graduate of Benton Harbor High
School and attended Patricia
Stevens Career College.
She was formerty em ployed as
a store cashier and as an atten
dant at at Montessori School.
Survivors include: her husband,
Richard;. two daughters, Keanna
Neal and Kiera Smith, both of Ben
ton Harbor; her father, Frank Bow-
. man of Benton Harbor; two sisters,
Patricia Bowman of Madison, Wis.
and Betsy Kreichauf of Benton
Harbor; three brothers, Frank
Bowman Jr., Randy Bowman and
Rodney Bowman, all of Benton
Harbor; and her gandmother, Ida
Bowman of Benton Harbor.
Her mother, Sarah Bowman,
preceded her in death in 1984.

She was preceded in deaty by
her husband, LC. Gaines Sr., in
1989; by daughters, Rosemary
Gaines in 1988 and Lucille Gaines
