In 1968, in response to De troit city wide protests, the Michigan State Legislature es tablished bodies in each urban renewal area called citizen dis trict councils, representing the residents and giving citizens in put in planning their community and having a say in the future development of their commu nity. The state 1a w did not provide funding and cities traditionally funded them. wo By KWAMENA AINOOSON 5 ecla' to the Mlch_lgan C.!.!!zen __ Gomoa Akwakron celebrates colorful f tivals in the months of July and August.
