PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the AN­
NUAL SCHOOL ELECTION will be held
in said School District on MONDAY,
JUNE 13, 1994.
There will be elected one (1) member
of the Board of Education of the School
District to fill a vacancy for a three (3)­
year unexpired term, beginning July 1,
1994, and ending June 30, 1997.
There will be elected two (2) members
of the Board of Education of the School
District to fulfill two expired four (4}-year
terms (terms beginning July 1, 1 �4, and
ending June 30, 1998).
Act 451, Public Acts of Michigan,
1976. as amended, provides in part as
follows:
"The Inspectors of Election at any an­
nual or special election shall not receive
the vote of any person residing in a reg­
istration school district whose name is
not registered as an elector in the city or
township in which the person resides."
The last day for receiving registration
for said Annual Election will be MONDAY,
MAY 16, 1994. Persons registering after
5:00 P.M., Eastern Time, on said MON­
DAY, MAY 16, 1994, will not be eligible to
vote at said Annual Election. Persons
planning to register must determine
when the City Clerk's office will be open
for registration.
Under the provisions of Act 451, Pub­
lic Acts of Michigan, 1976, as amended,
registration will not be taken by school
officials, and only persons who have reg­
istered as general electors with the ap­
propriate Township or City Clerk of the
Township or City in which they reside, or
through registration at a Secretary of
State Drivers' License Bureau, are regis­
tered school electors.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
COMPREHENSIVE GRANT
PROGRAM
The U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) is providing
funding on a formula basis to the Benton
Harbor Housing Commission to improve
the physical condition and upgrade the
management and operation of its. pu�lic
housing program. The modernization
funding will be through the New Compre­
hensive Grant Program. HUD. has noti-
. fied the Housing Commission that the
grant amount for fiscal year 1994 will be
approximately $643,513.00. '
To receive the funding, t�e Benton Har­
bor Housing Commission is required to
develop a Comprehensive Pla�, in con­
sultation with residents, local govern­
ment officials and other interested
oarties. Key elements of the Comprehen­
sive Plan include Executive Summary,
Physical Needs Assessment. Manage­
ment Needs Assessment; Five Year Ac­
tion Plan: Local Government Statement;
PHA Board Resolution; and Annual
Statement. The Cornprenensive Plan
must be submitted to HUD by June 1,
1994.
The consultation requirements Include
establishing a partnership process with
resrdents and local government omcrats
to develop and implement the goals,
strategies and pnonties Identified In the
Comprehensive Plan. A Draft copy of the
Comprehensive Plan will be available at
the office of the Executive Director,
