Humphrey was a member and deacon for 45 years at the War­ ren Avenue Baptist Church where his funeral was held, Sat­ urday; April 23, 1994. Humphrey, 78, was born in Stuggart, AR, and moved to D - troit in 1936. He ttend d Wayn State Univ rsity and became one of the leadingreal e tate brokers in the metropolitan area. He owned the Humphrey Realty for 45 years and was named "Broker of the Year" by his colleagues. Humphrey served as presi­ dent of the local chapter of N a­ tional Association of Real Estate Brokers, was a member of the Detroit Chamber of Commerce, the Hamtramck Board of Com­ merce; a member of the Booker T. Washington Trade Associa­ tion, the Cotillion Club, lifetime member of the NAACP, and a lifetime donor to the Orphan's and Widow's Fund of the Detroit Police Department.
