Johnnie Booker, RTC executive
vice president for minority af­

RTC has the ponsibility of
implementing the regulations of

bill requires a minimum of 5-
10% minority firm participation.
The two day event in the na­
tion's capitol was designed to
guide minority firms toward in­
creasing their share of busin
with RTC and other financial
regulatory agenci .

wins lawsuit

for civil discrimination and bat­
tery, stemming from a search of
the woman's bag.
The woman, Dorothy Clarke,
said she was stopped and her
bag searched after she had made
purchases at a Kmart store in
1989. She said a store supervi­
sor "snatched � her purse and de­
layed her leaving by 15 minutes:

Clarke contended the store
singled her out cause she was
black.

had waited on her. They said th
clerk, who also was black, had
repeatedly asked suspicious
questions during training about
such things missing money and
voided transactions.
"W persistently denied that

said Kmart's lawyer, Michael
Miller of Kalamazoo.
The jury convicted Kmart
Thursday after a week of testi­
mony and ordered the payment.
Miller aid Kmart might ap­
peal.

The ingredients used by Philip Morri are annually submitted to the
Department of Health and Human Services. They are all common foods,
or are on the Food and Drug Admini tration's list of approved f od additives,
or are substances generally recognized as safe by the FDA, or are generally
recognized as safe by the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association,
or are regulated by federal agencies such as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco
and Firearms or the Environmental Protection Agency.
