A minimum of twenty (20) signatures of
full time active employees in the classi
fied service are required to nominate a
candidate for said office.
Qualifications requirements for candi
dates are the same as those required for
other elected officials of the City of High
land Park except those applicable to
judges.
The general rules governing public elec
tions shall apply and the candidate re
ceiving the highest number of votes shall
be elected to the Civil Service Board for
the term specified.
In case of a tie vote, the winner shall be
chosen by lot.
The hours of the election will be from 9:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the polling place will
be at the following location.

menting its strategy for improving public
housing operations in such areas as:
modernization; maintenance; manage
ment; security; and resident empower
ment initiatives.
We will be holding our initial kick-off
Meeting on Wednesday 6, 1994 at 3:00
p.m., at 925 Buss Avenue. I invite the
participation of all dem ocratically
elected resident council representatives
from each of the developments, along
with local (or tribal) government officials
and Housing Commission staff, in CGP
planning group. This group will meet on
regular basis to ensure resident input,
experience, and expertise and to assist
my staff in planning and implementation.
During these meetings, we hope to build
an effective Partnership Process which
will enable this dynamic team of partici
pants to address mutual concerns, while
identifying significant problems and vi
able solutions towards improving the
physical conditions and quality of life in
our public housing community.
So that you may have an opportunity to
gain a better understanding of the CGP
before our initial meeting my staff will
make available a 30 minute videotape
that provides an overview ofthe program.
In encourage resident leaders to organ
ize their communities, meet in advance

provide all interested residents an oppor
tunity to have their question about the
CGP raised early in, our planning ses
sions.
As a component of the partnership Proc
ess, my staff also will provide any techni
cal assistance you may need to
participate in all phases of the CGP, as
well as provide a current status of mod
ernization and other PHA activities.
