Self-Instructional
language programs at LMC
Lake Michigan College now offers If-instructional courses
for either academic or continuing edu tion credit in Japanese,
Italian and Russian.
The lfi-week course are taught in a learner-centered format
, which incorporates video tapes, audio tapes and two-hour
weekly drill sessions conducted by native speaking drill instruc
tors.

NISE sponsors PTO grants
The NISE Organization (Neighborhood Information & Shar
ing Exchange), will be sponsoring grants to Parent Teacher
Organizations (PTO) within the Benton Harbor Area School
District.
"The purpose of the grant awards will be to provide support
to the efforts of parents within schools and to encourage the
development and viability of additional parent groups within
each school building," id Monique Partlow, NISE Education
Coordinator.

with each PTO responsible to raise one-fourth of their grant
request from other sources. Requests may range from $500-
