The Highland Park Lions
Club has inducted a new mem
ber, Deborah L. Scott.
"1 feel honored to be inducted
since it is my opportunity to as
sist inviduals who are physically
challenged due to loss of sight or
limited sight," Scott said. "My
mother has limited sight and
has used the services of the Li
ons Club."
Soott feels she can benefit the
club since her background is in
the health care profession
Scott currently works as the
Assistant Administrator at the
Riverview Medical Offices on
Glendale in Highland Park She
administers the entire complex
as well as lease complexes. She
will have additional responsi
bilities in the near future that
will include working with man
aged-care programs at River
view.
BEFORE WORKING AT
Riverview, Soott worked as a
Public Health Nurse Supervisor
for the city of Detroit from 1970-
1984. She then went to work for
the Patient Care Management
System for the Wayne County
Health and Community Services
where she was Associate Direc
tor, then Director.
Scott ran the program ofIndi
gent Health Care for 50,000
Gen ral Assistant recipients un
der a 55 million dollar grant.
She began her career after
graduating from Madonna Col
lege before it became Madonna
University with a B.S. in Nurs
ing and later obtained a degree
in Masters of Science and Ad
ministration.
Scott is a single parent with
two children, a daughter, Shay,
a senior at Michigan State Uni
versity, and a son, Dean, a fresh
men at Oakland County
Community College.
Besides becoming a new

member of many organizations
such a the American Public

Association of Health Services
Executive Forum, Highland
Park Chamber of Commeroe and
New Detroit.
Scott also is a public speaker
and has provided many presen
tations on Health care. She is
pu lished in magazines such as
