Farrakhan last week said'
that Muhammad, in parts of the
speech, was not representing the
NOI, "but was representing
himself." He criticized the tone
of Muhammad's remarks, but
added they were based in truth.:
HE SAID HE found some of
Muhammad's remar "vile in
manner, repugnant, malicious,
mean-spirited" and not in the
spirit of Islam. .
"During th speech, Brother
Khalid made remarks that were
not consistent with the proper
representation of the Honorable
Elijah Muhammad, his teach
ings and guidance, " said Farrak
han in a press conference here
last Thursday.
"Remember, those who claim
to represent God must be wiSe
and careful of the manner of
which you represent the truth,
otherwise our exp sion will
cause people to r oect the truth
that will save their lives," said
Fa rrakha n.
Farrakhan's appearance
came in the wake of a nation
wid furor over Muhammad's
speech last Nov. 28 at Keen Col
lege in Union, New Jersey.
Port.ion of th speech, in
whi h Muhammad allegedly
called th Pope a "no good ....
cr cker" and said Jews were
"bloodsuckers" of th Bla com
munity, were r printed by the
An i- f mation League in a
full-p ad in th New York
Tim t month.
