Th airport is jointly owned by th two mu­ nicipalities of Benton Harbor and St. J ph, with Benton Harbor owning 62.79 percent and St. Jo ph, 37.21 percent. Commissioner George Wysinger cast the only vote against the renaming of the airport to in­ clude Benton Harbor. "1 can't how we are going to lose owner- hip by changing th nam ," Wysinger added. Commi ioner Ricky Hill . d he disagreed with Wysinger, that by putting Benton Harbor on the name would stop other communities from contributing funds. Commissioner Charles Yarbrough ked the airport board members, "what is wrong with the airport ing rep nted by th folks that own it . . . predominately?"
