The repe 1 of the inheritance

in teacher-tenure laws are all
shining examples, Hillegonds

items reflect a shift in philo

He also said some legislative

Jackson child
molestation case
set for March
SANTA ONICA, CA - A Cali
fornia uperior courtjudge re
cently set March 21, 1994 as the
trial date for a civil lawsuit
charging that Pop music super
star Michael Jackson sexually
mole ted a 13 year-old boy.
Meanwhile, Jackson's diffieul
ti deepened as two of his for
mer security guards issued
statements saying the 35 year
old used to sneak kids into his
room, if his parents were
around. According to guard
Leroy Thomas, "He instructed
us that W-8 should keep (the) kid
in the guardhouse until his par
ents or brothers would leave."
From a secret location, Jackson
has denied any wrongdoing.

hide behind the U.S. Constitu
tion as an enigma. This docu
ment is over 200 years old. But
more importantly, it was put to
gether by a group of half-bigoted
men who had no idea of what
this country would be like today.
They excluded in that noble
document most of the people
that exist iri this country now.
Excluded them from all the
rights, privileges, and humane
'decency that is only natural to
any human being, simply and
strictly on the grounds of physi
cal difference.
This same tunnel vision still
exists in the sight of many of our
key people in power today. The
first words that seem to ema
nate from their speeches when
ever a major issue on justice
comes up is that it is 'U neonsti
tutional', They continue to cling
to this outdated mode as if it
were some type of holy shrine.
In the meantime innocent peo
ple are being gunned down day
after day. If these idioerates are
so hung up on the prefix 'un',
then why isn't the death of these
innocent people unholy? Or,
how about Ungod-Iike? Or
maybe just plain old unhuman
like? But this doesn't give them
enough time to get their names
in the papers and allow the pub
lic to remember them in time for
the next election.
Thoee of us who live in pre
dominantly African American
communities need to under
stand that if we want peace -
then we need to make peace
among ourselves. Continuing to
count on Washington is about as
fruitful as doing a rain-dance on
the Sahara d rt.
