easy to find excuse to do nothing
by pleading the decadence of
our city. This defeatism seem
to me the besetting temptation
of our time and is invariably
unhealthy and impotent.
With a new face, a new begin­
ning, new results are attain­
able, if we will, also, put behind
us the sectionalism which con­
fines human energies and ym­
pathies in watertight
compartments-northend, outh
side, La e ide, ea tside, and
west side, where it i no longer
po ible to breathe freely. We
must unite-no mor sec­
tional/political fronts, but one
great crusade for human ad­
vancement.
