Muskegon County recently
honored Dr. Edward V. Wil­
liams after 40 y rs of practi
in Muskegon.
The tribute was held at the
Heights Middle School, where
many 'Of his friends, former pa­
tients and employees attended.
His longtime friend, Ciggree
Morris called him a dedicated
doctor and a community jewel.
Two years ago he was hon­
ored by th university at i '
50th Anniver ary 'dirm r in
KansasCity, Mo.
William retired in 1986. He
was the first Black graduate
from U niversity of Kansas Medi­
cal School in 1941. He came to
Muskegon in 1946,
Blanche Smith was r -elected
to Ml1 kegon ity Commi ion;
Herman Ivory wa elected to
Muskegon Hts. Council;
Relistine Wilkins, re-elected to
Muskegon Hts. City Council;
and Rev. Willie Burrell Jr., was
re-elected to Muskegon Ht
