WGHLA.ND P - Highland Park Mayor Linsey Porter said
that his newly appointed Director of the Public Safety Depart
ment passed all his physical tests.
City Council Pro Tem Christine Franklin and Council women
Greta Johnson expressed concern that he had not had a physi
cal exam when the mayor appointed him. The council passed a
resolution that uch an exam would take place after his ap

"There is nothing wrong with the man's health, " Porter said.
"The man's here to provide a professional job. Let him do his
job."
"We have more important things to do than to spend time to
question someone's health," he said.
Porter said Robinson was "a top professional in the state."
HE SAID ROBINSON served 12 years as a commander in
Detroit. "Experience and training," Porter said. "That says it
all. "
Po r id his experience also gave him the ability "work ..
with other law enforcement agencies," adding becauSe ne es
tablished a "strongre1ationship with the Detroit police Depart
ment", the "units and commanders in Detroit are supporting
us."
As his direction of Highland Park officers, Porter said Robin
