starting a clean-up program and
reinstituting garbage oollection.
Rev. Dr. Clark told the mayor
and ministers "you can do things
here that can be challenging to
other cities."
Cooperative ventures between
the church, city and schools, none
of whom can do it alone can effec
tively produce the �ge.

tures have been suooessfully un
dertaken and complied through
Rev. Clark's guidance in his
hometown of Dallas, including
Senior Citizen and Youth Com
munity Centers. He is pastor of

combine the efforts of local offi
cials, clergy and teachers".
He added: "th institutions
would provide the kind of pro
grams that will - enhance the
welfare of our young people in a
pecial way". They (programs)
would lift them up to a standard
and be a resurrection and a resto
ration of the valu that have long
sin faded and become de-em
phasized".
Mayor Gordon Bush of East St.
Louis also announced that the sis
ter city, St. Louis, MO will host
the national congress in June
1996. There are about 200,000
members of that congress in the
metropolitan area. Rev. John
Ro and Rev. Zachry jointly
in�ted Rev. Dr. Clark to the city,
which has been BOOmed by the
media. '

helping the less fortunate and
financially supports the yo�th in
college.
The church has a summer
bu .iness, ':In ic:e cream parlor,
which providesjobs for the out-of-
hool youth in the summer. It
has an outetanding .. Fede
��it U nion and attends thajails
so often, that Sheriff Wilson was
among the guests at the home
coming celebration. Often the
members carry hot meals to the
jail.
Rev. Dr. Aldridge is vice presi
dent of the National Baptist Con
� �nd some have expressed
their Interest in his becoming
president when current tenures
are up.
He is on the bo rd of a national
bank in Flint, and he and his wife
Mildred, a retired school princi�
pal, are well-known in the Flint
community for their contribu
tions to the over-all involvements.

grams, events celebrations and
more importantly, the morning
worship, the pastor, Rev. Avery
Aldridge and members, always do
so in a big way.
That is why the recent home
coming celebration was so suc
cessful. Invited guest preacher for
the morning worship was Rev.

the Words of Praise.

pulpit, with the pastor and his
