way, city learns

BENTON HARBOR - The City
of Benton Harbor was recently n0-
tified that 990,031 in Commu­
nity Development Block Grant
FUnds will soon be releesed to
them.
Of the anticipated funds,
$250,000 is from FY 92; $250,000
fromo93 and 290,000 is from the
, funds held from the Community
Development Block Grant, ac­
cording to Evan Lefhic, director
for the city's Planning and Com­
munity Development Depart­
ment.
leDuc said with the release of
these funds, the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Develop­
ment will continue to investigate
the 1992 spendings of CDBG
funds by the City.

the city."
AT ONE TIME the city owed
Dial-A-Ride over $283,000 in de­
ferred subsidies. Dial-A-Ride
wrote-off 50,000 of that
amount.
Commissioner Steve Wooden,
a bus driver for Dial-A-Ride, said
the transportation system said
the ridership is up in the area,
