Under the terms of the law, a
retir from the police or fire
department will be chos n by
current board members to sit on
the board until August I, 1994.
Afterwards a retiree shall be
selected by people who are in­
cluded in the retirement system
of th city's old police and fire
depart ment or the city's Public
Safety D partment, established
in the 1980s to combine police
and fire ervices. .
