" Highland Park Mayor Linsey Porter states that the position of deputy director is crucial, be­ cause of the city's financial eri­ sis, caused by businesses like Chrysler moving out, reducing the city's tax base. At the public ion of the August 2 City Council meeting, Mamie Cooper, President of Lo­ cal 41 AFSME, said, "The Mayor added a Deputy Director of Fi­ nance, but he said there is not enough money to run the city."
