AIDS Coalition sponsors construction of Quilt The Berrien County AIDS Coalition is sponsoring the construc­ tion of a Memorial Quilt, patterned after the national NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. According to Pat Friend; Coordinator of Self-Help, the purpose of both the local and national projects is to call public attention to the humanity behind AIDS statistics and the enonnity of the AIDS epidemic, as well as to memorialize loved ones. The memorial panels will be made by all sorts of people i'n' all kinds of colors, fabrics and styles. Animal Aid Mutt March Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan is holding its 3rd Annual Mutt March on Saturday, August 28, from 10a.m. to 1 p.m, at Lake Bluff Park in St. -Joseph, The raindate is Saturday, September 11, same time and place. The Mutt March is a non-competitive walk of people and their dogs to raise money for Animal Aid in its effort to help lost, abandoned and abused dogs and cats. Walkers are asked to obtain a Sponsor form and-collect mone­ tary pledges from friends, family and eo-workers for walking. Pledges may be per lap walked or a straight donation amount. Honey is to be pre-collected (based on projected laps) and turned in at registration the day of the walk A $3 registration fee is required to help offset 003ts of the event.
