When ked how much the =vail­
ability of guns have contributed to the
epidemic of violence that is engulfing
all of America, 61 percent nationwide
ay "a great deal" and 20 percent ay

of age. However, even 41 percent 0

members say they believ guns have

How bad i it? The HaITi urvey
tells us that:
18 percent of all adults 20 per­
cent of all parents and 30 percent of
Blacks report having had or know ing
omeone who had "a child who was
wounded or killed by another child
who had a gun. fI
15 percent of all adults, 19 per­
cent of all parents, 22 percent of lat­
ina. and 33 percent of Blacks report
"knowing a child who was 0 worried
that he or he got a gun for self-pro­
tection."
Fully 91 percent of all dultsand

when they were growing up."

Blacks report knowing "a child who
