your children to become strivers. And, watch their elf-e teem grow
with the ati fa tion ofjob well done.
Third, adul must r inforce the po itive qualiti in their hildren.

self-confidence in their natural talen .
Fourth teach your children about your family herita . Let them

Even if you hated history when you were in chool, en ourag yourself
to read African American history to your children. You will be amaz d
at the pride they will learn from stories of the past.
Fifth, give your children a faith that com from the inside. As ure
them that they can do anything they et th ir mind to do. Teach them
that no obs tacle i too big for them to overcome.
Finally, make ure that your children know that they are important
human beings. Make ure that they know that you believe in them, and
that they-and no one else-are "Appl of your eyes!"

day, April 27 meeting, the Highland
Park chool Board approved action
to repair Highland Park Community
College (HPCC) and to prevent
crime in the parking lots.
The Board approved bids for:
