NBA stars to a 142-128 victory over
th Dutch national team.
The game was the fourth of a
European tour for the NBA players
and the only loss was to the same
Dutch team on Tuesday, 139-138
without Johnson.
The Dutch taged a big comeback
in the final quarter of the rematch and
got within 123-121. Johnson th n
took charge, grabbing a rebound and

decisive run.
He left the game with 2:29 to go

five executive board members and a
few advisory board members to help

THE WDNFA will be a youth
football league for boys and girls
who are enrolled in middle schools
that surround Southw t Detroit
(Boynton, Wilson, Earhart, Munger,
Webber and Pelham).
There will be six to eight teams in
the . leagues. Locations of th
SWDNFA teams will be: Kemeny
Center (Fort-Schaffer), Patton Parle
(Woodmere-Vemor-Dix), The Peo
ples Community Center (Delray),
American GI Forum (Waterman-La
fayette), St -Hedwig (Konkel-June
lion), Romanowski Parle
(Lonyo-Michigan), Kronk Recrea
tion (McGrnw-Junction) and Clam
Parle (Scotten- Verner-Clark).
Each team will be al lowed up to
30 kids per team and 12 girls per
cheer squad.
"Although this won't eliminate
the gang problem," Chakur aid. "It
will put a dent in i t,"
The season will begin the first
Monday in August wi th umrner
practice. The 10-week eason will
tart September 4th with regul r ea
on gam and will end with the Owl
Bowl on November 6th. All gam
will be played at Southw t m High
Sch 01 on Saturday afternoons.
But there' a need for funds. Ac
cording to Chaleur th re's lead on
