Governor John Engler recently announced the award of two pedal
job training grants totaling 68 686 to Lake Michigan College to up­
grade wor ers' kills at local industri .
, The grants are part of a new Adult Education Alternative Training
Grant program. The tate-fund d $25 million initiative i, to provide job
training that qualifies ple for good ne.w jobs or gives them the
training they need to upgrade their kills.
Ai cording to Engler' release th gran to Lake Michigan College
are among 73 grants totaling 7�274,053. The grants are to provide
training and retraining to over 13,000 people aero the tate. The first
round of 47 grants, awarded in December 1992 totaled 11,278,000;
the second awarded in January 1993, totaled $7.447,947 .

Mr. Broyles w born April-4,
1963, in St. Jo eph, MI. He was ern­
ployed as a nursery gardener.

Benton Harbor died April 11, at Broyles of Benton Harbor; two ons,
South Haven Community Hospital. Daniel Green and Antonyo Green,
