disrupt big league game
CJUCAGO (AP) - The Rev. AI
Sharpton on Saturday threatened to
disrupt major league b eball games
thi year ,through acts of civil disobe­
dience if owners don't hire more mi­
norities in management positions.
During a weekly meeting of Op­
eration PUSH, Sharpton urged all
Blacks to join in if no agreement is
reached by opening day.
"We are going to deal with the
fact that sports in this country (have)
become the institutionalized apart­
heid pastime of the world," he aid.
"Blacks are paid to bounce balls
while white (owners) sits in the
tands and count the money after we
have entertained them. We cannot
allow our children to grow up feeling
