DhiROIT - After a long eight
years, Cas Tech has returned to the
top of the hill in local high school
swimming. The Technicians ran
away from orthern, their main rival,
to capture the Detroit Public School
League Division I Swimming Cham-
pionship held at Wayne State
University' Matthaei Pool on
February 2nd. Northern had won
nine con e utive PSL wimming title
dating back to 1984.
The Technicians piled up n irn­
pre ive 279 points to cap.ure first
place. Northern fini hed ec nd with
166 points barely edging K' ng wh
finished third with 163 points. Other
chools in fini hing order were Os­
born (4th, 59 pts.), Redford (5th, 49
pts.), Western (6th, 44 pts.), South­
we tern (7th 37 pts.), Pershing{Sth,
35 p ,Mumford ( th, 20 pts.) and
Cooley (10th, 2 pts ..
