ERNIE HELPS DETROIT FIRE· DEPARTMENT SHOW OFF 'NEW HOUSE
Sesame Street Live! character, Ernie, along with Detroit Headstart students recently
visited the Detroit Fire Department's new fire safety house. The $33,000 house is
designed to teach kids how to respond during a fire. Youngsters watch Ernie
demonstrate fire safety tips on national television. The fire safety house is a part of
the department's ongoing Home Fire Safety Program. Detroit is one of only a few
cities in . ohigan that has a fire safety house.
