finding a place that had their names
on the voting list.
Many· came to the dis trict
Democratic Party headquarters for
help as late as 7 p.m., but the phone
lines to the ci ty clerk were down and
party officials could not get through.
"We told them to go down to the
city clerk's office and not to leave
until they are able to vote, ,. Stallings
said.
Some were able to vote that way,
