The Progressive Mi ionary Bap­
tist Church, 245 Pipestone Street,
will be celebrating it's Annual
Womens Day on Sunday, November
8, at 10:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The 10:45 a.m. speaker will be
Mrs. Annie Childs, First Lady of
Progre ive.
Mrs. Childs received her teachers
certificate from Standard Publishers.
She also completed computer cour-:
ses from the Adult Career Center and
taken Business Assistant classes at
Lake Michigan College.
SHE IS EMPLOYED as a
Patient Account Clerk at Mercy
Memorial Hospital. She is Chairper­
son of the Board of Christian Educa­
tion of Progressive,' teacher of
Tuesday night Bible Class, Bible
Teacher for the JUDI r Women
Auxiliary of the General Baptist
State Convention of Michigan, Past
President of the Junior Women
Auxiliary of the Union Baptist Dis­
trict Association, Past Bible Teacher
of the Junior Women's Auxiliary of
the National Missionary Baptist
Convention of America.
She is the wife of Rev. James
Childs, pastor of Progressive. She is
the mother of four daughters, Shen­
na, Fredia, Gwendolyn and Donetta.
Presiding officers include: Joyce
Manning, New Paradise Missionary
Baptist Church. Devotional Service,
Emma Arington, A.M.E.; Ernestine
Stokes, Pilgrim Rest; and Lizzie
Box, Isralite Baptist Church.

frie of St. Paul Bapti t Church, Ben­
ton Harbot.
MRS. JEFFRIES attended Lake
Michigan College, Luther Rice Ex­
tension Seminary and received her
Bachelors of Theology from Conroe
Normal and Industrial College of
Conroe, Texas, under the direction
of the late Dr. Daniel E. Cook.
She is a certified teacher through
the Evangetical Teachers Training
Association. She is a assistant Sun­
day School teacher at St. Paul, also
Missionary Bible Teacher, weekly
Bible Class teacher, an active worker
with the Berrien County Council of
Churches and Vice President of the
Board of Directors of Benton Manor.
She is married to the Rev. Johnny
Jeffries, Assistant Pastor of St. Paul.
She is the mother of three
children, one son Ronald and two
daughters, Izenna and Brenda.
Josephine Smith will be the
Presiding officer.

The Annual Chapter One Parent Advisory Council (COPAC) meet­
ing will be held Tuesday, November 10, at Sorter School at 4 p.m. in
