Marcel1m Sims, a 13 year-Old eighth grader at
Reeths-PutIer Junior High School w given a hand
of applause and a big thank you recently.
Sims received the recognition by Reetha-PutYer'
Board of Education for hi volunteerism with the
Di tricts Recreation Program.
Sims spent hi afternoons this summer at the Mus
kegon Y.F.C.A. helping young swimmers. It w. an
unpaid job he ked for lut pring.
Mike Swelnia, a teacher with Reeth-Puffer Com
mUnity Education Summer Swim Program said he
did his job well and he is a fine young man you could
depend on.
Sims love sporta. He playa football, basketball,
swims and runs 100 meter dash and 400 meter relay
in trick.
The Board of Directors of the National Con
ference of Black Mayors, recently held • two-day
summer Board meeting in Muskegon Heights at the
ECONO Lodge. A reception wu held at the SPX
Headquarters.

Youth Environmental Education
Service Corps (YEES), working on
environmental and educational
community service projects.
Ninety young people resided for
nine weeks, from June is to August

County, Camp Alberta in Baraga
County, and Camp TIppy Dam in
Manistee County .
