Carter has been ap­ pointed to its Board of Commis­ sioners. HUD has awarded the agency $309,000 to make repairs. Joe L. Mattox, a former official with the Housing Authority of Kan­ sas Ci ty, Missourl, bas been ap­ pointed executive director. -, Marcia K. Carter was appointed to the Board of Commissionel'l by Muskegon Heights Mayor Robert Warren. The new board member, wbo Uvea in East Side O>urt Apartments, bas been a resident of public bousing for eleven years. Her career goal i to earn a degree and work in the criminal justice profession. She is presently a per­ manent part-time cashier for Meijer, Inc. Ms Carter is a member of Zion Baptist Church and active with the children's cbolr. Ms. Carter i president of the Part-Side Residents Council (formerly East Part Manor Resi­ dents O>undl, Inc.) She says ber main goal on tbe Board of O>mmissioners will be to represent all the residents of East Park Manor, Columbia Court and East Side Court apartments (all public housing developments). Ms. Carter will join Orville Syd­ nor, Nathanial Johnson, Virginia Gardner and the Rev. Jamea Witcher on tbe Board of Commissioners. The Housing Commi ion has been awarded a $309,000 Emergen­ cy Comprehenslve Improvement Assistance Program (ClAP) grant to MS. He is a former property manager, crime prevention officer, and director of housing management for the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri. Mattox is a CPM, Certified Property Manager and a PHM, cer­ tified Public Houslng Manager. The Mwskegon Heights Housing Commis ion wa incorporated in 1960. The Commission owns and manages 340 public houslng units.
