"I'm standing on my record,"
O'Hair said. "Criminal acts happen
without regard to race. And people
of every race want crime dealt with
firmly and fairly, and that's what I
do, tt he added, saying that he didn't
wantrace to be part of the election.
"Does that mean that I can't raise
issues related to my community, a
county that is 44 percent
African-American? More
African-American males go through
the criminal justice system than any
other group, yet he does not have one
Black male in a policy-making
position. I think that people should
see O'Hair's true record, Smith
said."
The term of office for the Wayne
