education eriously.
The average alary of a
"big time" profe ion I ball
player is about one (1' mil
lion dollars (SSS) a year;
however, you would be hard
pre ed to find a handful of
profe ion educators making
$100,000.00 a year. The
val ue of any commodity in
this country is measured by
the monetary value we place
upon it.
We must come to our sen
ses to know that our youth are
aware of thi economic
reality of di parity and dis
grace upon this nation! No
wonder they play ball more
than they read, write, or com
pute.
Boy from low-income
families have higher school
suspen ion, truancy and
drop-out rate than girls, and
smaller numbers of boys
graduate from high school.
It is time for us to get in
volved with the education
proce and tum-around the e
trend in education now!
The 'above would indicate
that we place little economic
value in education; and that
our youth achieve at a low
level, based upon their per
ception that education is of
little economic value in our
SOCiety.
