The Local fair housing outreach
efforts will include local public ser
vice announcements on radio and
televl ion, well po ten nd
phamplets.
The Urban League of Greater
Mu kegon is one of 60 Urban
League affiliates that have signed on
as part of the overall affiliate net
work outreach program.
"Housing di crimination impacts
upon the physical, as well as the
p ychologlcal makeup on our com
muni ty. Through this project we
hope to learn more about the impact
of housing discrimination and how
best we can attack it, tt aid Gloria
Whi te Gardner, contact person of the
Urban League of Greater Muskegon.
The outcome of this education
outreach effort will become part of a
National Urban League research ef
fort exploring the dynamics of hous
ing discrimination as it affects
minorities and the total community.
Special grants to develop fair
housing services have been allocated
to three Urban League Affiliates,
Tacoma Washington; Indianapolis,
Indiana; and Jacksonville, Florida.
From the results of the three
model fair housing efforts, as well as
from the intake data of the 60 af
filiates which include Muskegon in
the overall outreach campaign, the
National Urban League expects to
design an effective fair housing
strategy for communities across the
country.'
