preached about the approaching
Good Friday, the day the Scriptures
ay "Jesus died for man's sins."
From prestigiou places,
limousines rolled the fur- and
diamond-dripping finery to par
ticipate in services and sit on the hard
benche reminiscent of "down
home" from whence we all came.
Songs like "He's My Rock," "A
Wheel In The Middle Of A Wheel,"
"Precious Lord" and "Steel Away"
shook the rafters as the approaching
hour moved into its final week.
The "God Father of Gospel," Wil-
lie Banks, at the holiday celebration
at New Bethel Baptist Church said
what many said through their te -
timony of words and songs.
"I A promise to GOd that
I ould serve him," Banks, bo be

cane, said. "I am not going to break
that promise because ('when that roll
is called up yonder') I have to have
a home to go to."
