ly supporting Dr. E. Edward
Jones in hi efforts to intensify
voter registration through
African-American churches.
The president of the 4.5 mil­
lion member National Baptist
Convention of America Inc.,
and pastor of Galilee Baptist
Church, ha worked assiduously
for the past few months plan­
ning what he believes will be the
most successful voter registra­
tion campaign ever launched by
African-American nationally.
Dr. Jones has initiated a mas­
sive crusade to have every mem­
ber of every church registered to
vote in time fot the 1992 elec­
tions.

In a letter mailed to every
pastor under the auspices of the
NBCA, he said, "It i imperative
that the voice of African­
Americans are heard resound­
ingly in future elections.
"Progress, Uke charity, begins at
home," he noted.
