Taxpayers Ask IRS MAAH open on Martin Luther King holiday In honor of the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Museum of African American History will be open to the public from 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. on the national holiday Monday, J nuary 20, 1992. Special programming during the day will include a film and video presentation of the- "Life and Times of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." at 11 a.m. and repeated throughout the.day until 5 p.m. "King Livel," a monologue of some of the famous speeches of Dr. King, will be rpesented by actor Ernest Robinson at 6 p.m. In addition, the Museum's food drive, which began during Kwanzaa in conjunc­ tion with the Mayor's Emer­ gency Relief Fund, has been extended due to overwhelm­ ing response from the com­ muni ty. Picard knew the laws of racial separation would end some­ day, but the timing surprised him. Picard, associate dean o[ the Univer­ sity of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, is working with the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg to develop a new public policy and administration curriculum. "I would have never believed I would have a direct role in South Africa' vast changes, to he said. The new curriculum, which begins Feb. 6, will provide high-level management and busine policy training for future managers in post­ apartheid South Africa. The partnership between the universities is being funded by the' Ford Foundation. . Picard spent three years in the Peace Corps, lived for eight years in East Africa and worked with the African National Congress in its anti-apartheid efforts in SO)Jth Africa.
