Michigan received his honorary de­
gree in the Ministry. A dinner wa
held recently at th church in hi
honor.

D.D. Pre ident Harper Bapti t
Theological Seminary of Magna1ia,
MiSS., made the honorary degree
presentation.
My sister Siddie Turner, Shirley
Richards and her daughter Daith
Richards and my elf, traveled there
for this great occasion.

On Sunday, December 15 the
Gospel Choir of Beulah Baptist
Church will have a Concert/hour of
power at 7 p.m. The theme will be,
"He's Worthy" Revelations 4-11.
Rev. Willie N. Paul Jr., is the host
pastor.

p.m. the New Hope Bapti t Church
will have their Mother and Mi sion'
Day program. Everyone i invited.

After 35 years of service at S.D.
Warren, Mrs. Elsie Blakely has
retired. She is the wife of Mr. Charles
Blakely and they are the parents of
seven childien. She is also a member
of the Beulah Baptist Church.
Congratulations, Elsie, and enjoy
your well-earned retirement.

The Ci ty of Benton Harbor ha
hired new patrolmen to the police
department. ,
Dennis Diggs, 23, and Bradley
Dixon, 31: began working for the
. Benton Harbor Police Department in
late November.
Both patrolmen recently
graduated from the Police Academy,
where.they were ent for training by
the City.
Diggs and Bradley are familiar
with the community. Diggs, is a 1987
graduate of Benton Harbor High
School and is still a resident of Ben­
ton Harbor. Bradley, who resides in
Nile is a former resident of Benton
Harbor and plans to move back to the
city. Bradley has worked a a jail
guard for the Berrien County
Sheriff's Department, but ays he
feels he could do more on the treets.
The two officers will each receive
a salary of $22,912 a year.

They both need to be thoroughly
checked on a monthly basis.
