Weekend PHIlADELPHIA - S·oYth· Africa, Ethiopia, Brazil, Trinidad, Canada and the United States - it'll be a truly interna­ tional exchange of music, mirth and culture Feb. 14 -17, 1992, wh n jazz artists from around the world perform here during the Fourth Annual Spectacor I Presidential Jazz Weekend. The fur-day, citywide celebration ouring Black History M nth i a national and interna­ tional jazz artists will present a broad pectrum of jazz rhythms and tyles. From wing to bebop, fusinon and beyond, jazz masters and emerging arti ts will hare th ir repertoire at jazz events around the city and around the clock. Arti ts performing during the weekend include Mercer El­ lington with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Dakota Staton and Abbey Lincoln, Ethiopia' Aster Awete, the Afro-Latin ounds of Papo Vazquez Bomba Mah­ lathini and the Mahotella Queens, the Max Roach Quartet, Clark . Terrry, John Blake and the Clif­ ford Jordan Big Band.
