Minority Business Association
(SMMBA) monthly meeting, held in
its usua] place In the downtown
Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce
building, 114 N. Kalamazoo Mall,
took place Tuesday, November 12th
at 6:30 p.m.
Uppermost on everyone's mind
appeared to be the weekend eminar,
Seven Habits of Highly Effective
People, scheduled at the Stryker
Business Center on Friday, Novem
ber 15th through Sunday, November
17th.
First order of bUSirlC ,though,
was the recent 1991 Minority Busi
ness Expo. SMMBA President Tom
1bornton asked the membership for
comments and suggestions on how
next year's expo can be even "bigger
and better."
Herman Hawkins' said more ef-
fort and time would be needed to
attract othe who wanted to par
ticipate, but didn't know of. it. He
noted that the expo was a "tremen
dous sucess." He said "long-term
planning and advertising" in the
coming year will malee next year's
expo more uccessful.

registered showed up and between
450-500 people attended the expo.
