Go pel Music Competition
(NBGMC), ha been issued.
Nashville has been chosen as the
site of the search for the be t in-
pirational performers in the
country. The contest, ponsored
by the American Baptist College,
is a great opportunity for gospel
unknowns. The.grand prize win
ner will receive a recording con
tract with Warner/Alliance
Records, as well a a $10,000
ca h prize, and an additional
$10,000 to present to the church
of their choice, provided the
church is registered as a sponsor.
Additionally, the five top winners
in the competition will appear on
the Bobby Jones Go pel Show,
which i broadcast nationally on
Black Entertainment Televi ion.
The finals will be judged by a
panel of gospel music industry
profe ional. Singers of all ages
who are not currently igned to a
recording contract are urged to

nual event celebrates the tradition
of gospel music within the
African-American community.
Daryl Coley is one who knows
how to count ble ing. Last
. month, his five-year-Old son was
hit by a car while walking home
from school. Coley arrived at the
hospital to find him in intensive
care. He began praying. Within
24 hours, his on's condition
steadily improved. Today, the lit
tle boy is back in school and all is
well.
