Eye On Gospel The Mi si sippi Ma s Choir Gives God.The Glory By MARGARET MANSFIELD Capping four Stellar Awards, as well as the number one position on the nation's gospel music charts their rust time out, the Mississippi Mass 'Choir was a bonified Cinderella suc- cess story. This month, they release their second album, titled "God Gets TM Glory." Ironically, director David Curry says there was no pressure. "People were constantly sa ing 'how are you going to outdo your last album, but we're doing the same thing on this album as we did'Iast time. We give it back to him," Ironically, for all the success of their first album, the group failed to garner even one Grammy nomination. Director David Curry says that had more to do with pd'litics. Next month, the Mississippi Mass Choir is set to embark on a corporate sponsored national tour, a rarity in gospel. Curry hopes it will give them a chance to get acquainted with all their fans.
