Reverend Allen' "little light"
shine in a big way. And while the
scenario you are about to read; the
giving of six suits of clothes to
children, who if not destitute, were
certainly in need, "was God's will,"
Reverend said, it deserves to be told.
Reverend Allen aid a six-year
old child, no doubt you read about
him in the new papers, was gunned
down in a drive-by shooting.
The child, who e 12-year-old
brother had been killed in a drive-by
hooting last year, at the same ad
dress, needed clothing to be buried
in.
up to claim the uits, he brought five ,
children with her. She had the twins'
and three other children, ge five,
ix and eight-years-old who not only.
needed, but wanted, ui too. ,
Reverend Allen balked. He said,
he had given his word about giving
three suits and felt that God' will
had been done. So, he gave the ttu:ee I
uits he had promised. L
Nevertheless, "The lord move
in mysterious ways" and as the. fami
ly was leaving. one of the youngsters
said, "We ain't gonna get no suits." •
They left but Reverend Allen
thought about what the youngster
had aid and within 20 minute he
picked up the phone, called SOSAD:
who did not ask him to give uits to .
the three youngsters, and told them,'
"send them back."

"What did she serve," I
asked, intrigue mounting with
the word "oul food."
"Collard green, pig tail ,
corn bread, cucumbers,
tomatoes, okra and lemonade,"
Sam said, with a couple of
man, mans thrown in ..
"However, the food wa an
appetizer; what she said about
Civil Right was the main
course," Sam continued, a I
made myself a cup of coffee.
"The conversation started
when someone mentioned
Judge George Woods decision
about the all male academy.
"Si ter Pearl said, 'Civil

use public restrooms and eat at

way to remedy the situation is
accountability.
