' Mayor Martha Scott wants to know why is the city paying extra money for two city attorneys. In essence, attorney Victoria Abdella and attorney Darnell Dickerson are both receiving a budgeted salary to do the same job. Attorney Abdella mainly repre­ sents and advises the city council even though she was not originally hired for the job. Council President Linsey Porter said, "Abdella was the best move city council have ever made ... she does an excellent job." Attorney Dickerson initially represented the council until "he began to mislead us" said Porter. Porter stated that it all began when by Carla Huston Dickerson filed a lawsuit against ,S_t_aff Wl-"-·t-er-------- the council. "Whatever ac­ tions I take, it is in the best interest for the city of Highland Park, the municipal cooperation" said Dick- erson, Mayor Scott believes that the' , ,I only reason Abdella represents, council is because she needs a job.'
